원하는 것은, 꼭 한 방에... (Hasselblad X Pan II)

호기심에 TX1을 사용해봤던 시절이 있었다.

영화스크린처럼 넓게 보이는 풍경들이 참 재미있더랬다.

몇년전만 해도 이것 저것, 속전속결로 바꿔서 사용해보던 때라,

하나의 카메라를 사용할 때, 적어도 마음에 드는 한 컷이 있다면 그것으로 만족하곤 했다.

봄날의 자화상 한 컷을 나에게 남겨주고 떠나간 추억의 카메라...

파노라마 판형의 문제점은

1. 결과물을 시각화하기가 쉽지 않다. 

2. 출판하기 어렵다.

3. 전시하기가 매우 까다롭고 돈이 많이 든다. 

(한 점, 한 점 차지하는 공간이 넓어서, 어지간히 큰 갤러리가 아니고서야 전시가 어렵다. 배병우, 故김영갑 급은 되어야;;;)

4. 그냥 다른판형으로 찍고 잘라쓰면 되잖아?

가끔씩 즐기기엔 참 재미있는데...

메인은 아니고...

그렇다고 이걸 계속 갖고 있어?? 또는 가져야 해?

에이... 필요없어, 파노라마가 뭐... 밥먹여주디?

그렇게 해서 다들 한번씩은 내치고... 후회를 한다...

어휴 헐값에 팔았는데, 지금은 다시 사려면 ㄷㄷㄷ

에라이 안 사!

그런데, 말이야...

언제 내가 작가질 하려고 사진을 찍었던가...

사진은 그냥 내 똥이다.

그래서 라이카도 똥이고, 짜이즈도 똥이고, 니콘도 똥이고, 핫셀도 똥이라는 이야기이다.

똥이라고 쓰니 경박하기 그지 없어, 카타르시스(Katharsis)라 하면 조금 고매할까?

재미난 사실은,

누구든 자기가 싼 똥을 한 번은 꼭 쳐다본다는 점...

여튼, 퀘변과 궤변을 위한 장치들을 잘 갖추는 것도 중요한 일인데,

고민하고, 고민하고, 고민하면 할수록 그 녀석들의 가격은 대기권을 벗어나고 있음을 알아야 한다.

싸다고 사지마, 꼭 필요하고, 꼭 원하는 것을 사야해.

돈이란 그저 시장을 감싸고 있는 커튼일 뿐,

실체의 가치를 아는 사람만이 그것을 가질 수 있다.

그래서, 원하는 것은 꼭 한 방에...

그렇게 해야 손실이 적다.

Centre filter XPan for 45 mm 

The Centre filter XPan for 45 mm (3054453) is designed for use only with the Hasselblad 4/45-mm lens (302401s). 

The 45 mm lens is free from vignetting with panorama format images at lens aperture settings smaller than f/8. However, natural light fall-off(a basic law of physics) reduces the exposure at the corners of the image by roughly I f-stop. 

This light fall-off at the corners causes visible effects in critical photography when using transparency film. 

When using negative film, however, natural light fall-off present in traditional optical printing set-ups (most film labs and mini-labs) automatically compensates for this to a greater extent in the print. Therefore, when using negative film and with the lens stopped down, there may be no need to use a centre filter. 

The only way to eliminate light fall-off at the corners is to reduce the amount of exposure at the centre of the image. The Centre filter XPan works by a concentration of neutral density at the centre and a progressive reduction of density towards the outer edge. The effect at the centre of the filter corresponds to a 1 f-stop reduction in exposure. 

The filter is multi-coated to ensure high anti-reflection quality. No degradation in MTF is seen and there is no shift in focus.

the filter performance is optimised to give even illumination at larger or medium sized apertures. 

Multi Exposure

The camera can be programmed to make up to 9 exposures of the same frame.

1. To select multi exposure mode push the MODE button on the camLCD for 1 s. Push repeatedly until a flashing double frame symbol appears on the display.

2. Select multi exposure with the ▲/▼buttons to select a non-fIashing double frame symbol. Confirm the setting by pushing the release button halfway and a double frame symbol is shown on the camLCD.

3. By pushing the ▲ button repeatedly you can now select up to 9 exposures, displayed on the expLCD. 

You can any time cancel the multi exposure function by pushing the M0DE button. Multi exposure cannot be combined with Auto-bracketing. 

Exposure History

The total number of exposures taken with the camera  can be checked on the camLCD. With the camera turned off, depress the ▲ button and keep it depressed while you switch the shooting mode selector to ’S’.

Each unit signifies ten exposures. You may find that even a brand new camera indicates around 200 exposures taken. This is a result of testing during manufacture and is not a sign of used equipment. This facility is a handy check to see whether the camera should be serviced.
